The Edge Phase I

Set on a spectacular 10-acre site adjacent to Lincolnshire Showground and backed by a 5-acre private wood, every property enjoys an uninterrupted view across lakes and landscaped parkland bounded by natural hedgerows.

Comprising of 18 no. 4/5 bed and 4/3 bed low-energy dwellings, The Edge builds on a sense of community with a private tennis court, community pavilion, community meeting room, and fruit and orchard allotments.

The homes are built well beyond Building Regulations. Exceptional environmental performance is achieved by a high thermal mass structure which is super insulated, triple-glazed and virtually airtight. Energy consumption is further reduced by a heat-recovery ventilation system, a shower-waste heat-recovery system, and the use of low energy appliances and lighting. The solar roof generates electricity and further reduces the demand for grid-electricity by diverting excess power into the hot water cylinder. Use of harvested rainwater to flush toilets also reduces mains water by around 40%.

Completed in 2017 with all properties sold.

Construction cost: £3.5m.
